Our Bodies are God’s temple

Corinthians 3:16-17
16:Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17: If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

I Corinthians 6:19-20
19:What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20:For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

So, what are you allowing in yourself? Are there thoughts, actions or things that you would not allow yourself to take to church? Are you gorging your body with food and junk (yummy junk) that will make you lethargic and weak? Are you consuming too much of anything? (you fill in the “anything”.) Over doing anything, with the exception of loving God, is bad for you mentally, physically and spiritually. We are blessed that God has not skipped over us as His temples because of the way we treat ourselves. Eating sweets? Not a terrible thing unless your do it in excess. Having something greasy here and there is not going to block your arteries, but having grease all the time, well that is a different matter.   Watching a movie here and there with some questionable things (again you fill in those questionables) is not going to cause you to become desensitized and backslide or slowly change your outlook, on the other hand, overindulgence may do just that.

Please, for the sake of being God’s temple, take a look at yourself and consider if you are a temple that God would be proud to dwell in? Remember we were bought with a price and we should glorify God in our bodies and spirits, which are God’s.
